There are an infinite number of interesting excursions to be made in this area and any visitor is sure to be constantly delighted and surprised. Once a wide and impenetrable region, the Langhe now receives many visitors attracted by its remote, untouched and enchanting landscape. The hills chase each other, while the vineyards create geometric patterns where art blends with picturesque lonely hamlets.

Off the major routes, unusual roads wind their way, signaling unusual landscapes and picturesque villages: Verduno, for example, announces from the lower Langa an unprecedented succession of vineyard-covered hillsides up to Roddino on the border with the upper Langa, a splendid middle ground between vineyards, fields, meadows and woods.

Here and there silhouettes of medieval castles and towers, farmsteads and ancient chapels stand motionless, watching over ancient villages with legendary names from which on clear days the view reaches as far as the Alpine arc.

It still retains its medieval geometry, the town of Monforte d’Alba, suspended between past and present in whose narrow streets the ancient stories of the Cathars echo along with the sounds and notes of its amphitheater at the top of the ancient village.

In the silence of these hills lurks the sound of ancient exploits from the time of the Romans and barbarians. The castles that rise like warriors, now harmless, testify to the historical period of the Middle Ages and tell of noble families who owned these lands.
