The farmhouse "Poderi Aldo Conterno" consists of about 25 hectares of vineyards and making wine out of their grapes. The cru Romirasco, Cicala and Colonnello, sites in La Bussia, net represent the expression of the terroir. Their stunning facing south-southwest enhances the nobility of the soil clay and limestone rich in calcium carbonate and iron typical of the hills. Conterno family has always had a relationship of perfect symbiosis with the cru, trying to raise all of their most intimate peculiarities through a careful and rigorous work in the vineyard.

The vines are grown in the traditional manner and with great respect for the environment but without neglecting anything that modern technology provides. The nature of the land and its favorable exposure, together with the unique microclimate of the area, help to create the unique characteristics of these wines. The infinite care that the family Conterno dedicated to these wines are reflected in the low-temperature fermentation, in constant racking and aging in oak barrels resting in the cellar dark and silent.

The winery Giacomo Conterno was founded in 1900 in Monforte d'Alba from Giacomo, a descendant of a family of winemakers. His son Giovanni in 1912 starts to bottle the Barolo and, in 1934 Giacomo, son of Giovanni, start to produce the extraordinary "Barolo Monfortino". The wine made from this medium exceptional needs no forcing, but simply bring out the best of what nature has provided. This is the philosophy of the winery and, in particular, to Roberto, the last descendant of the family running the company Conterno.

It all began in 1886 when Paolo Conterno founded the house of Ginestra, devoting himself to the cultivation of the Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The aspiration to perfection and the idea of making things in their true essence, is what the family for four generations Conterno chases ever faithful to tradition.
Costa di Bussia Tenuta Arnulfo

Luigi Arnulfo has been one of the first manager of Alba in the oenological field. In 1874 he bought the Bertoroni farmhouse, in the Costa di Bussia region, in Monforte d’Alba. This estate included already the famous fields of “Campo dei Buoi” and “Campo del gatto”. Today they are precious cru, the heart of the Costa di Bussia concern: 15 hectares vineyards that offer particular and complex wines.
